Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has partnered with Orlando-based AdventHealth to expand the health system's orthopedic services.

Five details:

1. The partners signed a long-term deal on Sept. 22 to bring Rothman's resources and support to Florida. AdventHealth will be able to collaborate with Rothman's more than 200 physicians.

2. Rothman also signed multiple physicians to employment agreements for Central Florida. The practice aims to continue adding fellowship trained, subspecialty physicians to the Central Florida team.

3. The agreement will be Rothman's first expansion outside of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. The practice is partnered with Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health and New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health in those markets.

4. Rothman now has about 40 offices and aims to continue expanding its geographic footprint. Its surgeons perform around 65,000 procedures each year.

5. Rothman will also bring its research and innovation to AdventHealth; the practice has 60 full-time researchers that work alongside physicians to develop new standards of care and take a data-centric approach to care delivery.
