University Orthopedics in Providence, R.I., bought lunch from 11 restaurants and delivered it to its employees who are still working during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Patch.
The University Orthopedics Charitable Giving Committee used funding to help local restaurants struggling with the financial consequences of the pandemic.
The group, which has 13 offices and more than 25 fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, provided lunch to hundreds of its employees throughout the state.
"We decided to combine supporting local restaurants while providing a morale boost for our staff who are having a difficult time just like everyone else," said George Pasquarello, MD, a spine surgeon and member of UOI's Charitable Giving Committee.
