Hoag Orthopedic Institute buys surgery center for undisclosed sum — 4 things to know

Irvine, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute bought the physician-owned Diagnostic and Interventional Surgery Center in Marina del Rey, Calif., according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Four things to know:

1. The 12,000-square-foot outpatient facility was purchased in December for an undisclosed amount. The transaction was announced Feb. 6.

2. Diagnostic and Interventional Surgery Center has a team of 60 employees, including 30 physicians who offer spine, joint, foot, ankle, sports medicine and pain management procedures.

3. The surgery center's employees will be integrated into HOI's system within months.

4. Along with a 70-bed hospital in Irvine, HOI has ASCs in Newport Beach, Mission Viejo and Orange, all in California. The hospital has grown to include more than 300 physicians since it was established in 2010.
