8 orthopedic practices partnering with hospitals, health systems

In the past month, eight orthopedic practices have linked up with hospitals and health systems:

OrthoAtlanta partnered with Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare to create Piedmont Orthopedics.

Galena, Kan.-based Orthopedic Specialists of the Four States signed an agreement Jan. 26 to join Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy.

Craig, Colo.-based Memorial Regional Health on Jan. 22 partnered with Steamboat Orthopaedic and Spine Institute in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and TriHealth, both based in Cincinnati, opened a renovated office providing spine and sports medicine care on Jan. 14.

Independent group practice OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is joining forces with Lawrenceburg, Ind.-based Highpoint Health to expand orthopedic and sports medicine services in Southeastern Indiana.

Twelve providers from Norman-based Oklahoma Sports & Orthopedics Institute are now practicing at SSM Health Bone & Joint clinics throughout central Oklahoma. SSM Health said the partnership will enable it to expand orthopedic offerings and concentrate on patient success.

Orlando (Fla.) Health plans to build a $250 million orthopedic hospital after acquiring one of the area's largest independent orthopedic practices.

Conway (Ark.) Regional Health System acquired Conway Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, taking over the group's management and operations effective Jan. 2.
