Indianapolis sports medicine practice establishes 1st responders program

Indianapolis-based Methodist Sports Medicine partnered with the Carmel (Ind.) Police Department to establish a first responders program.

What you should know:

1. Methodist will integrate its First Line Tactical Athlete Program into the police department.

2. The program focuses on education, injury prevention and providing care to the first responders.

3. The Carmel police will have access to an on-site athletic trainer to care for their orthopedic needs.

Methodist Sports Medicine CEO Marty Rosenberg said, "As the job demands of law enforcement become increasingly complex, the need to provide our public servants with excellent health care is essential."
