Des Plaines-based Illinois Bone & Joint Institute opened a new sports medicine facility Jan. 6, the independent, physician-owned practice announced.

Four things to know:

1. The IBJI Sports Institute opened in Highland Park, Ill., offering same-day sports medicine care for Chicago-area athletes of all ages and skill levels.

2. Patients visiting IBJI Sports Institute will meet with a physician to establish a treatment plan, complete physical therapy, participate in sport-specific training or activities, and receive a soft-tissue massage.

3. The location's physical therapy services are available six days a week, and sports performance services are offered seven days a week.

4. IBJI sports medicine specialists serve as team physicians for USA Rugby, Chicago Wolves, Chicago Bandits, Chicago Red Stars, Lake Forest (Ill.) College and more than 60 other clubs and high schools.
