Texas Health Spine & Orthopedic Center of Collin, Texas, installed a new referral system that pairs patients with a navigator who assists them throughout their spine and orthopedic episode of care.
Four things to know:
1. The patient navigator program aims to connect patients and physicians participating in the referral line to provide individualized care.
2. The THSOC trained customer care specialist helps navigate patients through each step of their treatment from scheduling to follow-up care, including support with treatment programs, questions about insurance and coordination of care between multiple offices.
3. Where the program differs from similar ones is its ability to coordinate medical care between several spine and orthopedic specialists, which streamlines communication between providers and patients.
4. THSOC consists of over 40 physicians and their areas of interest include neck and back injuries, joint replacement surgery, sports medicine and general orthopedic injuries and conditions.
