Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for advanced certification for total hip and total knee replacement, according to The Herald-Dispatch.

Cabell Huntington Hospital is only one of two hospitals in West Virginia to obtain the designation. The hospital underwent an onsite review in which The Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with advanced disease-specific care standards for total hip and total knee replacement requirements.

The 303-bed hospital is home to the Hoops Family Children's Hospital and the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and treats patients from West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
