Lafayette (La.) General Hospital cut the ribbon on its new orthopedic-focused hospital Feb. 22, the Daily Advertiser reports.

What you should know:

1. LGH moved its orthopedic unit to the hospital. It's the orthopedic-only hospital in the region.

2. The hospital offers imaging and orthopedic services, including total joint replacements.

3. Hospital Administrator Jude Fontenot said hospital expects surgeons to perform more than 1,000 surgeries annually.

4. More than 150 patients go to LGH for orthopedic services daily.
