Nashua-based Southern New Hampshire Medical Center installed 7D Surgical's machine-vision image guided surgery platform for spinal procedures.
Four things to know:
1. The MvIGS platform is designed to replace standard fluoroscopy, providing surgeons with a radiation-free tool to place spinal implants.
2. With advanced camera technology, the MvIGS system is designed to sync up to a computer in the operating theater to help guide spine surgeons' operating tools.
3. "Having used traditional surgical navigation systems, the 7D Surgical system is by far a superior platform," said Tung Nguyen, MD, a neurosurgeon at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. "I have experienced improvement in surgical case duration, while improving staff and patient safety through significant reduction of total fluoroscopy time in my operating room."
4. Dr. Nguyen specializes in conditions of the neck, spine and back, among others.
