In June, Casper-based Wyoming Medical Center acquired Casper-based Mountain View Regional, according to Casper Star Tribune.

1. Mountain View was originally owned by three Wyoming Medical Center neurosurgeons. The three neurosurgeons left Wyoming Medical Center after disagreeing over having their own operating room teams.
2. Wyoming Medical Center announced it would buy the physician-owned facility with the assistance of a $37 million bridge loan.
3. Per the acquisition, Mountain View closed its emergency room and became Wyoming Medical Center's east campus.
4. Despite rumors of acquiring the facility for its added neurosurgery services, Wyoming Medical Center CEO Michele Chulick said the acquisition was for added beds.
5. Wyoming Medical Center now has 235 licensed beds, the most in the state. The hospital has another 25 beds on the east campus that are not currently licensed.
6. The new campus will provide the same services as Wyoming Medical Center's main campus without an emergency room. The hospital's orthopedic group, Advantage Orthopedics, also moved to the east campus.
