New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System partnered with Sight Medical to improve orthopedic surgery efficiency and reduce costs.
Here are three things to know:
1. In 2016, Oschner deployed Sight Medical's beta technology at three hospitals. Within six months, the health system documented a 32 percent direct cost savings for automated total knee replacement procedures compared to the traditional sales and logistics model.
2. Sight Medical develops integrated healthcare information technology solutions that focus primarily on service automation and operating room process management solutions for medical devices.
3. Ochsner Health System encompasses 30 hospitals and more than 80 health and urgent care centers in Louisiana. The health system employs more than 20,000 people and more than 1,200 physicians.
