State-by-state breakdown: 28 new practices to open in 2018

Since the beginning of 2018, 28 spine or orthopedic practices have opened new facilities. Texas and California have seen the greatest number of new practices.

Here is a state-by-state breakdown:

Arizona
Phoenix-based The CORE Institute signed a lease to take over the first two stories of the new Mercy Medical Commons II in Gilbert, Ariz.

Phoenix-based OrthoArizona launched its new Foot & Ankle Institute.

California
Fresno, Calif.-based Sierra Pacific Orthopedics unveiled its second campus in Fresno.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian unveiled the Fudge Family Acute Rehabilitation Center.

Los Gatos, Calif.-based OrthoNorCal opened its newest office in Morgan Hill, Calif.

Pacific Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Direct Orthopedic Care partnered to open an orthopedic -only immediate access clinic in Encinitas, Calif.

Connecticut
A new location was opened by OrthoConnecticut, an entity formed from the merger of four practices with offices in Fairfield and Litchfield counties.

Florida
Marion County, Fla.-based The Orthopaedic Institute opened a new clinic June 26 in West Marion, Fla.

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery partnered with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare and United Surgical Partners International, a Tenet subsidiary, to develop an orthopedic care center in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Georgia
OrthoAtlanta cut the ribbon on its new location at The Battery Atlanta.

Kansas
Leawood-based Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute opened its newly renovated physician-owned hospital.

Minnesota
Minneapolis-based Allina Health unveiled its new Orthopedic, Podiatry and Spine Clinic.

Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn., unveiled its new orthopedic and sports medicine clinic April 18.

Golden Valley, Minn.-based Twin Cities Orthopedics opened the TCO Eagan (Minn.) – Viking Lakes orthopedic clinic.

Missouri
Liberty (Mo.) Hospital unveiled the Advanced Spine & Brain Center.

Washington University Orthopedics & Barnes Jewish Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo., opened a new Orthopedic Injury Clinic in St. Louis.

Nevada
Lali Sakhon, MD, PhD, opened a Nevada Neurosurgery office at the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

New York
Maimonides Medical Center in New York City officially opened its Comprehensive Spine Center.

Oklahoma
Tulsa (Okla.) Bone & Joint Associates opened a new clinic in Sand Springs, Okla.

Rhode Island
Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics cut the ribbon on its new East Providence, R.I.-based location.

South Carolina
Georgetown, S.C.-based Tidelands Health and Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health partnered to open a new inpatient rehabilitation facility in Little River, S.C.

Clinic, S.C.-based Palmetto Bone & Joint opened a new clinic in Chapin, S.C.

Tennessee
Knoxville-based University of Tennessee Medical Center recently opened a new neuro critical care center within its Brain & Spine Institute.

Texas
Frisco, Texas-based Star Orthopedics and Sports Medicine opened in early May.

Dallas-based All-Star Orthopaedics opened a fourth location in Fort Worth, Texas.

Direct Orthopedic Care opened its third location in the greater Austin, Texas, area.

Legacy Bone and Joint Orthopedics held a grand opening for a location in Bee Cave, Texas.

Washington
EvergreenHealth recently opened its Neuroscience, Spine & Orthopedic Institute in Kirkland, Wash.
