Starting Jan. 1, 2019, members enrolled in the Public Employees Benefits Board Program's Uniform Medical Plan Classic and UMP Consumer-Directed Health Plan will be able to choose the Centers of Excellence Program for spinal fusion evaluation and surgery. The program also includes a travel and lodging benefit for eligible expenses.

2. HCA chose Capital Medical Center and Virginia Mason after a bidding process, which involved demonstrating high-quality spinal fusion outcomes.
