The 2018 Medscape Orthopedist Compensation Report revealed whether orthopedists would choose medicine and their specialty if they could do it all over again.
Here is what they said.
- Of the orthopedists surveyed, 76 percent said they would choose the medical field again as a career. The report found 37 percent of orthopedists found "gratitude and relationships with patients" as the most rewarding part of their job.
- A striking 98 percent of orthopedists reported they would choose the orthopedic specialty again if they had a do-over. The orthopedics specialty ranked No. 1 in this category ahead of the 28 other specialties examined by the 2018 Medscape Physician Compensation Report.
