Here are seven orthopedic surgeons making headlines.

Del Schutte, MD, the Comprehensive Joint Program director at Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based East Cooper Medical Center, performed South Carolina's first Mako total knee replacement surgery.

 

Pine Bluff-based Jefferson Regional Medical Center’s South Arkansas Orthopedic Center welcomed Gordon Birk, MD.

 

Danbury, Conn.-based physician Frank Hermantin, MD, is now seeing patients at OrthoConnecticut's New Milford and Sharon offices.

 

Tyler, Texas-based orthopedic surgeon Michael Merrick, MD, was named a 2018 Top Doctor.

 

Culpeper, Va.-based Craig Reigel, MD, was named a 2018 Top Doctor.

 

Orthopedic surgeon Ronald Royce, DO, will be honorably mentioned in The Leading Physicians of the World, a publication of The International Association of HealthCare Professionals.

 

Board certified orthopedic surgeon Harold Weems Jr., MD, will join the recently established Christus Trinity Clinic in Texarkana, Texas.
