Boone, N.C.-based Appalachian Regional Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine is relocating to another location within Boone, effective Dec. 11, according to Go Blue Ridge.

1. AppOrtho is moving its practice to meet growing demands.
2. AppOrtho is also opening a new center next to Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, N.C. It will offer comprehensive orthopedic services and same-day appointments. AppOrtho hopes the new location will provide patients easier access to care.
3. AppOrtho is comprised of four orthopedic surgeons and one family and sports medicine physician as well as three physician assistants.
4. Physicians at the center specialize in arthroscopic orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, knee and shoulder surgery, total joint replacements and hand surgery, as well as minimally invasive procedures.
5. AppOrtho serves as the official sports medicine provider for Appalachian State athletics and is the only are orthopedic center that performs surgeries at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, N.C.
