Northwell Health opens $25M surgery center, $8M medical pavilion: 5 insights

Northwell Health opened the Lenox Health Greenwich Village in New York City, which includes a surgery center, medical pavilion and orthopedic institute, according to Chelsea Now.

Here are five insights:

 

1. The $25 million surgery center includes six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, eight prep areas and 23 recovery beds. Center physicians at the center provide arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, hand and wrist surgery and minimally invasive cervical and spine

procedures.

 

2. Within the $8 million medical pavilion is the Northwell Health Physician Partners Orthopaedic Institute. Additionally, the medical pavilion houses the spine care program, as well as physical medicine, rehabilitation, pain management and urology practice and a conference center.

 

3. Northwell Health also opened three other locations in the area to offer neurology, internal medicine, family medicine and cardiology services to community members.

 

4. The health system plans to open another multispecialty practice that will house gastroenterology, rheumatology, otolaryngology, audiology, thoracic, pediatric cardiology, pediatric pulmonology and surgical services.

 

5. Northwell Health is New York's largest healthcare provider and private employer with 22 hospitals, more than 550 outpatient facilities and approximately 15,000 affiliated physicians.
