SERMO polled 2,019 physicians about their perception of the company's Drug Ratings platform.
A global social network for physicians, SERMO unveiled its Drug Ratings tool in May. The platform is a global peer-to-peer prescription drug review system for licensed physicians. Physicians leverage the platform to research, rate and share experiences on drugs' efficacy, safety, tolerability, accessibility and adherence.
Surveyed physicians were form the U.S., Italy, the U.K., France, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Korea, Switzerland, Colombia, Israel, Japan and South Africa.
Here are five insights:
1. Of the polled physicians, 73 percent reported they view colleagues' reviews in higher regard than information from pharmaceutical industry information.
2. Fifty-seven percent of physicians said they changed their perception of a drug after reading peer reviews.
3. Further, 80 percent noted peer ratings and comments will likely change their perception of a drug moving forward.
4. Of those polled, 77 percent reported they plan to visit SERMO Drug Ratings when deciding which drugs to prescribe.
5. Eighty-four percent of physicians said they believe peer drug reviews will result in enhanced outcomes.
