WalletHub analysts examined 14 metrics across all 50 states and the District of Columbia to determine the best and worst states for physicians to set up camp.

Analysts compared states' "opportunity and competition" as well as "medical environment."

 

Here are the five best states for physicians to practice:

1. Iowa
