Athenahealth Marketplace partners cut costs and save time for providers — 4 highlights

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth expanded its Marketplace health IT and other offerings.

Here are four highlights:


1. The company launched athenahealth Marketplace in 2011, with the intention of offering providers third-party health IT solutions integrated with athenahealth's core services.


2. The Marketplace now offers more than 140 capabilities, including chronic care management and bundled payments.


3. The athenahealth network rests within an open, highly scalable and API-enabled cloud platform.


4. Houston, Texas-based Advanced Medical Group leveraged MedXCom for an after-hours answering service. The practice decreased service costs by more than 50 percent since implementing the athenahealth Marketplace partner's technology.
