5 things to know about the 7th annual Spine Masters' Surgical Techniques meeting

Surgeons from all over the country will gather in St. Louis for the seventh annual Spine Masters' Surgical Techniques course.

Here's what you need to know:

 

1. The Spine Masters' Surgical Techniques course is co-chaired by Munish C. Gupta, MD, of St. Louis-based Washington University Orthopedics, and Neill M. Wright, MD, of the department of neurosurgery at St. Louis-based Washington University School of Medicine.

 

2. The meeting will include six live surgeries on movie theater screens, expert lectures with international faculty, interactive case discussions and an optional cadaveric lab to hone techniques shown in the live surgeries.

 

3. Participants will discuss optimal surgical strategies, analyze open and minimally invasive surgery techniques for degenerative spine cases and evaluate different approaches for avoiding and treating complex spine surgery complications.

 

4. Washington University School of Medicine designates the activity for a maximum of 19.75 AMA PRA category 1 credits.

 

5. The event will take place from May 18, 2017 to May 20, 2017.
