Based on 17 indicators of weight-related issues, WalletHub analysts pinpointed the cities with the most overweight residents.

Analysts examined the 100 most populated U.S. metro areas within the scope of the following categories: obesity and overweight; weight-related health problems; and healthy environment.

 

Here are the top 10 metro areas with the most overweight residents:

 

1. Jackson, Miss.

 

2. Memphis, Tenn.-Miss.-Ark.

 

3. Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, Ark.

 

4. McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Texas

 

5. Shreveport-Bossier City, La.

 

6. Chattanooga, Tenn.-Ga.

 

7. Mobile, Ala.

 

8. Lafayette, La.

 

9. Winston-Salem, N.C.
