Dr. Kevin McDowell joins Brain and Spine Center's neuropsychology team — 4 quick notes

The Brain and Spine Center in Marquette, Mich., welcomed Kevin McDowell, PsyD, to its neuropsychology team, according to a report in The Mining Journal.

Here are four things to know:  

 

1. Dr. McDowell comes to Marquette from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla., where he was a clinical psychologist.

 

2. After finishing his postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology at the University of South Florida, Dr. McDowell completed his clinical rotation in outpatient pain psychology at the James A. Haley Department of Veteran Affairs in Tampa, Fla.

 

3. Dr. McDowell is well-versed in health psychology and has experience administering psychological and cognitive assessments, and providing crisis services to patients with urgent needs.

 

4. Dr. McDowell will treat health-related difficulties such as chronic pain management, adaptation to disability, sleep issues, migraines and co-morbid mental illness.
