Concierge Medicine Today named minimally invasive spine surgeon Michael Gleiber, MD, among the "Top Doctors in Concierge Medicine" in 2016.

Dr. Gleiber was among the 21 physicians nationwide named to the list recognizing outstanding leadership and ability in healthcare innovation as well as clinical excellence, bedside manner, patient experience, community education and other factors.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Gleiber:

 

1. He has been recognized as a top doctor for spine surgery by Castle Connolly, a super doctor of South Florida by Super Doctors and a top 10 spine surgical specialist in Florida by Vitals.com.

 

2. Dr. Gleiber has special training in microsurgical, minimally invasive and motion preservation techniques and he has a special interest in complex spine problems. He works closely with rehabilitation experts and pain management specialists for patients who are indicated for non-operative care.

 

3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gleiber is a frequent guest lecturer at research institutions and hospitals. He belongs to the North American Spine Society, American Orthopaedic Association's Emerging Leadership Program and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

4. Dr. Gleiber is an assistant professor of clinical biomedical sciences at The Charles E. Schmidt Florida Athletic University College of Medicine for Spine Surgery and has a special interest in designing spine surgical implants and instruments.

 

5. He earned his medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed his residency and internship at Columbia University in New York City and the Kenton D. Leatherman Spine Surgery Fellowship.
