Four things to know:
1. The $4.5 million project will revamp the outpatient surgery department, adding a second OR, recovery rooms and outpatient surgery rooms.
2. Shelly Russell, CEO of the hospital, identified the need for a full-time general surgeon as well as expanded pain management, ENT and orthopedic services.
3. The expansion comes on top of the recent $12.5 million remodeling, which added private exam rooms in the physical therapy department, doubled the gym space and installed a helicopter pad.
4. The expansion is set to be completed in the summer of 2020.
