Indianapolis-based Riley Children’s Health opened a new Orthopedics and Sports Medicine suite at IU Health Fishers (Ind.), expanding pediatric orthopedic services and adding same-day walk-in care.
The location offers walk-in care from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for patients up to age 18. No appointment or advance call is required. Clinicians can evaluate orthopedic injuries that occurred within the previous seven to 10 days, including fractures, sprains, strains and sports-related injuries, according to an Aug. 13 news release.
Six providers will see patients at the location, which offers nonsurgical and surgical orthopedic consultations, specialized nonsurgical care for skeletal malformations and congenital conditions, spine care, sports medicine and injury care. Braces, splints and casts are available onsite, along with lab, radiology and pharmacy services.
With the opening, Riley Children’s now has two locations in the region offering same-day pediatric orthopedic care.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
