Illinois spine, orthopedic clinics close due to winter weather

Springfield (Ill.) Clinic has closed several facilities Feb. 3 because of winter weather hitting the region, including spine, orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery clinics, according to ABC affiliate New Channel 20.

Three notes:

1. Springfield Clinic is taking calls but said many locations are closed and that there is limited staff, according to WAND.

2. Springfield Clinic employs more than 3,200 staff, including over 600 physicians and advanced practice practitioners in over 80 specialties, according to its website.

3. Other Illinois health systems that closed clinics Feb. 3 include Carle Health in Urbana, Memorial Health in Springfield and Sarah Bush Lincoln in Mattoon.
