Illinois hospital launches teleneurology program: 3 things to know

Amita Health St. Mary’s Hospital Kankakee, Ill., initiated a teleneurology program for speedy care in the event of a head injury, stroke or other neurological issues, reports Daily Journal.

Three things to know:

1. Neurologists will evaluate and treat neurological patients through video and other technologies.

2. The hospital will have an on-call neurologist who will provide an examination via video connection when a patient with neurology symptoms arrives.

3. The program enables neurological assessments to take place 24-hours a day.
