Illinois Bone & Joint Institute Adds New MRI

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Chicago has added the Oasis High-Field Open MRI System for diagnosing orthopedic, rheumatologic and other medical conditions, according to a practice news release.

The MRI is able to produce images without using radiation and can detect the onset or existence of internal medical conditions and pathology. The MRI is available at the practice’s Bannockburn, Ill., location.

The MRI has an unobstructed lateral opening and can be useful for patients up to 660 pounds. The technology is also designed to allow caregivers constant contact with the patient during the scan.
