Here are three highlights:
1. P&S is the region’s only hospital to receive these awards.
2. Since 2006, the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program has helped patients find quality providers for their specialty care needs in the areas of bariatric surgery, cardiac care, complex and rare cancers, knee and hip replacements, maternity care, spine surgery and transplants.
3. Early this year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana recognized P&S as one of the nation’s first hospitals to receive a Blue Distinction Center+ designation in the area of bariatric surgery for gastric stapling. P&S has also received a Blue Distinction Center designation in the area of bariatric surgery for gastric binding.
