HSS to advance musculoskeletal care value with new center

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery opened the Center for the Advancement of Value in Musculoskeletal Care.

Here are three highlights:

 

1. Catherine H. MacLean, MD, PhD, HHS’ chief value medical officer, and Jordan Harmon, managing director, will head the center.

 

2. HSS established the Center for the Advancement of Value in Musculoskeletal Care with the intention of advancing the operations and science of high-quality musculoskeletal care globally.

 

3. The center will focus on five core areas:

•    Value measurement and communication: Gather value data and leverage analytics
•    Value-based care delivery: Integrate routine measurement and metrics reporting into care delivery
•    Innovative value tool development: Partner with HSS Innovations for value-based care
•    Value research: Develop predictive models for health improvement, risks, costs
•    Value education: Create musculoskeletal health CME course
