Seventy-three percent of young physicians were faced with student loan debt after completing with medical school, according to the 2015 Report on U.S. Physicians’ Financial Preparedness.

Here is the amount that young physicians owe in medical school debt:

 

•    $50,000 or less — 13 percent
•    $50,000 to $100,000 — 18 percent
•    $100,000 to $150,000 — 24 percent
•    $150,000 to $200,000 — 23 percent
•    More than $200,000 — 23 percent
