How have federal/state healthcare exchanges affected physician practices?

Here are four ways in which the federal or state healthcare exchanges have affected physician practices, according to Physicians Practice’s 2014 Great American Physician Survey:

•    Not at all — 40.3 percent
•    Minimally, I’ve had a few patients ask me questions about the exchange — 37.7 percent
•    Moderately, I’ve had a good number of newly insured patients contact my practice — 15.8 percent
•    Significantly, I’ve had more new patients than I can accommodate contact my practice — 6.2 percent

 

The survey includes responses from 1,311 physicians.
