The gift will be used to establish the Lauder Family Spine Center on HSS’ main campus, according to an Oct. 26 news release. The center is expected to open in 2024 and increase the hospital’s capacity for spine care.
“The incredible partnership of the Lauder family has allowed us to reach a crucial threshold of support for our expansion plans and will benefit all the patients who will count on HSS for healing and hope for decades to come,” Louis Shapiro, HSS president and CEO, said in the release.
Details about the gift weren’t disclosed in the release.
HSS is a recognized leader in spine care and sees more than 22,000 spine patients each year across its locations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida.
