Hospital for Special Surgery opens New York expansion

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery expanded its Long Island location in Uniondale, N.Y.

Four things to know:

1. The expansion nearly doubled the facility’s size to 37,000 square feet, according to an April 25 news release.

2. The Uniondale location has added physician suites, exam rooms, a second MRI suite and a physical therapy center.

3. The expansion was built in response to demand from patients.

4. The Long Island location was opened in 2000 with six physicians. Currently, 32 physicians work out of the facility.
