Hospital for Special Surgery, Ivy Rehab launch orthopedic physical therapy residency

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery partnered with Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy Feb. 21 to launch an orthopedic physical therapy residency program.

Using HSS’ curriculum, the one-year mentorship-based program aims to develop the skillsets of clinicians in the field.

Residents will be prepared to achieve certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists Orthopedic Certified Specialist, held by less than 7 percent of physical therapists in the U.S.

The inaugural class of eight physical therapists are required to complete at least 300 hours of didactic content and 150 hours of one-on-one mentoring.
