Four key notes:

1. The center’s mission is to provide joint replacement and reconstruction patients a single access point for coordinated care. Hospital for Special Surgery surgeons currently perform around 30,000 procedures per year.

2. The new center furthers a multi-year partnership between SNF and HSS; the organizations already partner on a month-long academic visiting program and seminar for Greek surgeons to visit HSS and learn from surgeons there.

3. Thomas Sculco, MD, serves as director of the center.

4. SNF provided a $10 million grant last year to establish the complex joint reconstruction program, which aims to focus on treatment for patients that need revision surgery after failed implants.
