The product of the partnership will be the first facility focused on orthopedic and neurosurgery in western North Carolina, according to a June 2 news release. The Center of Excellence will reside in Pardee’s existing hospital space.
The “hospital within a hospital” will have upgrades and improvements to Pardee’s existing orthopedic unit without the need for new construction.
“Historically, musculoskeletal care has been fragmented in Western North Carolina with patients having to rely on multiple health systems for orthopedic and neurosurgical care,” Jordan McInerney, executive vice president of value-based care at HOPCo, said in the release. “We could not be more excited to partner with Pardee to create the best-in-class orthopedic, spine and neurosurgical program that will become the preferred destination
