Healthgrades awards Hospital for Special Surgery — 5 observations

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery received Healthgrades’ 2017 Outstanding Patient Experience Award for the third consecutive year.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Hospital for Special Surgery was recognized as one of the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide for patient experience.

 

2. Healthgrades evaluated 3,489 hospitals that had submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to CMS.

 

3. Cleanliness, noise levels, pain management and physician responsiveness were surveyed.

 

4. HSS President and CEO Louis A. Shapiro said, “Third party ratings such as Healthgrades are having a greater impact on the healthcare decision making process for patients.”

 

5. HSS also recently received high marks in total hip replacement, back and neck surgery and spinal fusion surgery from Healthgrades.
