Here, Dr. Ament discusses his biggest concern in healthcare and where his career will grow in the future.
Question: What are the biggest concerns for your practice today? What keeps you up at night?
Dr. Jared Ament: Patient safety is always my biggest concern. My goal is to ensure that all aspects of a patient care team are working dynamically and synergistically. This often takes time and training but is absolutely critical.
Q: What are you most excited about in terms of technology advancement in the spine space? Where do you see the best opportunity for growth?
JA: Robotics, radiation-free navigation and motion-preserving technologies are the future of spine surgery. My particular interests are in how to make these novel, expensive technologies cost-effective and sustainable.
Q: Where do you see your practice growing or evolving in the next five years? What is the next step or evolution in your career?
JA: I would like to grow a practice under the auspices of offering the latest technologies and treatments to my patients in a sustainable way. I’d like to also focus on creating neuro or spine-focused mini-teams that are part of the patient encounter (from operating room to postoperative care) to ensure the highest quality of specialized care.
