Greater Pittsburgh Orthopedic Associates reports data breach

Greater Pittsburgh Orthopedic Associates has reported a data breach affecting 56,954 individuals.

According to notices sent to Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont officials, the practice discovered the data breach on Aug. 10, the day after the incident happened. An unauthorized party gained access to the practice’s computer network and personal information may have been compromised.

Notices to patients were shared beginning Feb. 5, and identity theft protection services were offered.
