Three things to know:

1. Each of the six clinics is equipped to provide injury treatment and evaluation, imaging services, splints and casts.

2. The six clinics — located in Danville, Camp Hill, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Lewistown and Port Matilda — are open five days a week. The Camp Hill location will eventually offer Saturday hours.

3. They will serve as alternatives to the emergency room for common injuries such as new strains, sprains or simple fractures. Patients with severe fractures or dislocations should still visit the ER.

“Minor injuries can be looked at without having to visit the Emergency Department. We are hoping this will reduce the wait time for not only orthopaedics patients, but all other patients at the emergency department,” said Michael Suk, MD, chair of Geisinger’s Musculoskeletal Institute.
