Here are three insights:
1. More than 19,200 physicians in more than 27 specialties participated in the survey. The survey included salary information, hours worked, time spent with patients and challenges.
2. A large income difference exists between men and women in the three older age groups with men earning:
• 36 percent more at ages 35 to 44
• 37 percent more at ages 45 to 54
• 35 percent more at ages 55 to 69
3. The disparity between men and women decreases to 18 percent for physicians age 34 and young.
