GAO appoints 11 members to the Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory

The Comptroller General of the United States and U.S. Government Accountability Office head Gene L. Dodaro made his first appointments to the Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory.

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 established the committee to make recommendations to the HHS secretary on physician payment models. The 11 members are:

 

1. Jeffrey Bailet, MD, President of Aurora Health Care Medical Group (Green Bay, Wis.)

 

2. Robert Berenson, MD, Institute fellow of Urban Institute (Washington, D.C.)

 

3. Elizabeth Mitchell, President and CEO of Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (Portland, Maine)

 

4. Kavita Patel, MD, Nonresident Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institute (Washington, D.C.)

 

5. Rhonda M. Medows, MD, Executive Vice President of Population Health of Providence Health & Services (Renton, Wash.)

 

6. Harold D. Miller, President and CEO of Center for Healthcare Quality Payment Reform (Pittsburgh)

 

7. Len Nichols, PhD, Director of the Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics at George Mason University (Fairfax, Va.)

 

8. Grace Terrell, MD, President and CEO of Cornerstone Health Care (Evanston, Ill.)

 

9. Paul Gasale, MD, Chief of Cardiology at Lancaster (Pa.) General Health

 

10. Tim Ferris, MD, Senior Vice President for Population Health Management of Partners HealthCare (Boston)

 

11. Bruce Steinwald, Private Consultant (Washington, D.C.)
