Florida hospital with 250+ beds receives stroke accreditation

Ocala (Fla.) Regional Medical Center on Jan. 7 was designated a comprehensive stroke center by DNV GL-Healthcare, Ocala-News.com reports.

Three things to know:

1. The accreditation is based on the standards outlined by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association.

2. Ocala Regional’s spine program also holds The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, according to its website.

3. The hospital is a 256-bed level 2 trauma center operated by Ocala (Fla.) Health.
