Former professional athlete Deion Sanders will give a key note presentation at the Becker’s 13th Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference + The Future of Spine.
Here are five things to know about Deion Sanders:
1. He primarily played cornerback during his time in the NFL, but occasionally also played wide receiver, kick returner and punt returner. He was voted NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
2. He was part of the Super Bowl-winning San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys football teams. Throughout his career, Mr. Sanders also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens.
3. While most known for football, Mr. Sanders also played professional baseball. He was on the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants. As a two-sport athlete, he’s considered one of the most versatile athletes in sports history.
4. Mr. Sanders established the TRUTH Youth Academic & Sports, a non-profit organization to guide children away from “the streets” and toward sports. The organization holds football summer camps as well as baseball, football, soccer, cheerleading and track leagues in the Dallas area.
5. Mr. Sanders is the only athlete to have played in both the World Series and Super Bowl.
