The $13 million clinic is set to open in 2020. At that time, CRMC plans to add a spine surgeon to its team. The outpatient clinic will take the place of the medical center’s nursing home, the CRMC Care Center. The nursing home’s bed occupancy has declined by 30 percent over the last decade.

In 2016, CRMC welcomed surgeons from Aitkin-based Minnesota Center for Orthopaedics to its staff. The center is led by Erik Severson, MD, along with Jonathan Herseth, MD, and Susan Moen, MD. CRMC plans to hire additional orthopedic providers as the center develops.

The medical center’s pain management clinic opened in 2016. It is led by pain specialist Joshua Horowitz, MD.
