CMS Includes Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Bundled Payments Initiative

The Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, based in Morton Grove, was recently named among the healthcare organizations that will participate in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative, according to a Medscape report.

The practice will team with skilled nursing facilities to keep patient stays and expenses down as part of the bundled payment. Four different models for bundled payments were announced as part of the program, passing more risk onto the providers, according to the report.
