Here are five things to know:
1. Central Maine Orthopaedics, a member of South Portland, Maine-based Spectrum Healthcare Partners, offers orthopedic care at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, as well as other CMH locations.
2. The partnership will better integrate existing services, such as Central Maine Orthopaedics’ practice and ambulatory surgery center in Auburn with CMH’s new mobile MRI network.
3. The mobile MRI network currently provides outpatient imaging services at CMH’s Topsham (Maine) Care Center and will expand to Central Maine Orthopaedics’ Auburn location.
4. Central Maine Medical Center was certified for quality of orthopedic care by the Joint Commission in late September. In 2017, the hospital performed 181 total hip, 316 knee and 45 shoulder replacements. It also treated 162 hip fractures.
5. Managing Director of Spectrum’s Central Maine Orthopaedic’ practice Matthew Bush, MD, said Central Maine Orthopaedics has been partnered with CMH for more than 30 years.
